Job Title: Tenant Companion

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Tenant Companion to join our Supportive Housing team. As a Tenant Companion, you will play a vital role in promoting tenant independence, dignity, and self-esteem. You will assist tenants with activities of daily living, provide medication reminders, and participate in leisure activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist tenants with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with non-prescription medication as required.
  • Participate in leisure activities, such as games, arts, and crafts.
  • Encourage tenants to participate in meal preparation and dining activities.
  • Provide general supervision and guidance to tenants.
  • Document and report any changes in tenant cognitive functioning and/or health status.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience working with seniors, dementia care, or as an Uncertified Health Care Aide.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to flex and adapt to changes and/or situations based on meeting tenant needs and facility operations.
