Renal Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Renal Technician to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a Renal Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dialysis equipment.

• Prepare dialysis equipment for patient treatment, including attaching tubing, running infusion medicine, and calibrating alarms.
• Monitor equipment during dialysis and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Clean, rinse, sterilize, and disinfect renal equipment according to manufacturer specifications and established procedures.
• Provide instruction and training to staff on operating renal equipment, ensuring they are familiar with policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure optimal technical services are provided.
• Maintain equipment and supplies for patient care, restocking and re-ordering as needed.

• Grade 12, plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively and physically able to carry out duties of the position.
