Island Health invites applications for a Rheumatologist to join our community-based team in Nanaimo. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide consultative services, participate in teaching and research, and engage with a dynamic group of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive care to adult patients with rheumatic diseases
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
- Promote education and research opportunities for medical students, interns, and fellows
- Participate in journal clubs, guest speaker presentations, and complex case discussions
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with Island Health's multidisciplinary teams, including hospital-based staff and community health care providers. A strong emphasis is placed on continuing professional development, with opportunities for training and mentorship available through various regional and national organizations.
What We Offer:- A competitive salary range of $325,000-$425,000 per year, commensurate with experience
- Full access to outpatient lab and imaging services, as well as hospital-based testing facilities
- Mandated hospital privileges for consultative inpatient services and ordering of medical ambulatory treatments
- Ongoing support for membership in regional and national rheumatology associations
