Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Mill Operator at our Portage la Prairie, MB location. You will be responsible for operating all milling equipment and systems, ensuring the quality of our products and adhering to food safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate all milling equipment, including grain cleaning, dehulling, kilning, flaking, and oat flour manufacturing systems
  • Steam heat treatment of raw and finished products
  • Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on milling equipment
  • Test finished products and work in progress to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties as assigned to meet standards in all areas of the mill and grounds
  • Accurately complete documentation for all processes
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Computer knowledge is an asset
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Solid problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Able to work in a processing environment and adverse conditions (heights, steam processing, and hot environments)
