Cloud Data Architect Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Architect to join our team at First Derivative. As a Cloud Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing and architecting cloud-based data pipelines, building robust data factory frameworks, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of our data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud-based data pipelines using AWS EMR and other cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain data analysis frameworks using Python and PySpark.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions meet business requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud data architecture.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Data Architect on AWS with a focus on designing, building, and scaling data solutions.
  • Expertise in Python programming, including deep understanding of the PySpark library.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS EMR, including deploying and managing EMR clusters for building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Experience working with open file formats (e.g., Parquet, Avro) and open table formats (e.g., Hudi, Iceberg).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the financial industry.
  • Familiarity with additional data processing libraries and tools.
  • Proven expertise in data modelling.
