Job Summary

This is a full-time on-site role in Quality Control of lighting products including manufacturing and assembly, located in Cornwall, ON. The Quality Control Engineer/Technician will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing, assembly and testing, troubleshooting, providing technical support, performing preventive maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service for fluorescent and LED luminaires in-house and field service settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical and mechanical components & lighting fixtures using hand tools, glue, and other materials
  • Use measuring devices to ensure proper size and fit of components
  • Inspect work for quality control
  • Install, maintain, and repair various types of lighting, equipment and systems in the field
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with lighting, equipment and systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide technical support to customers and address their concerns or questions
  • Document all service activities, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance performed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Monitor and Perform QC activities for assembly of luminaires
Requirements
  • Field Service and Troubleshooting skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Skilled in the fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, adjustment and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical components & systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
  • Technical Support and Preventive Maintenance skills
  • Excellent Customer Service and English language skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical industry, or formal education in engineering or technical fields is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, climb and work from ladders, use hand tools including a drill, multimeter, screwdriver etc.
  • Must be able to travel without restriction, within North America.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
