Cardiologist - Heart Health Division

Island Health is seeking a skilled Cardiologist to join our team in Nanaimo, British Columbia. As a member of our Department of Cardiology, you will play a key role in establishing a Heart Health Division in Nanaimo, working closely with a team of dedicated cardiac internists and intensivists.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation services for hospitalists and other specialty groups
- Interpret echocardiograms, Holter and ECG readings, and supervise nuclear perfusion imaging
- Perform pericardiocentesis, DC cardioversions, and rapid cardiac assessments
- Manage outpatient follow-up of patients through a private office and participate in cardiology division meetings
- Hold FRCPC Cardiology certification or be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Internal Medicine and Cardiology exams
- Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
- Prior experience in coronary care units and acute and office-based cardiology is an asset
