**Job Overview**

The Kelowna Women's Shelter is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our West Kelowna facility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair building systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff, program participants, and visitors.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the building's interior and exterior.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests or emergencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grade 10, plus related vocational training such as a building maintenance course.
  • Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and OH&S standards.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving equipment or materials.
