About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Care Aide to join our team at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach. As a Registered Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
  • Mobility and Transfers: Safely transfer residents from wheelchairs to beds, toilets, and other locations, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for residents, including their rooms and common areas.
  • Communication: Engage with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test.
Work Environment

As a Registered Care Aide at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach, you will work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with repetitive tasks. You will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel. A health care plan and financial benefits are provided as per collective agreement.
