About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team at Curbside Construction Ltd. As a Cement Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it meets our quality standards
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure accuracy
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, including trowels and floats
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices for cement finishing
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and extend their lifespan
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain our high standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in cement finishing or a related field
  • Equivalent experience may be considered
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and gloves to ensure your safety on the job site.
