Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at St.Amant. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a foster care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Care Management: Provide personalized care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring their dignity, self-determination, and personal outcomes are respected and promoted.
  • Service Planning and Implementation: Participate in ongoing service planning, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure individuals receive the most effective and efficient support.
  • Life Skills Development: Assist individuals in developing independent life skills, promoting their autonomy and participation in community activities.
  • Behavioral Support: Employ principles of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention to identify and intervene in situations of challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of individual progress, reporting any concerns or issues to the Foster Care Facilitator.
Requirements
  • Education: Grade XII Diploma (or G.E.D.) and certification in CPR and Emergency First Aid.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience providing services to individuals with disabilities, with knowledge of current trends and services.
  • Skills: Ability to work effectively as a team member, communicate effectively, and possess strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
