Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Apprentice to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an Apprentice Plumber, you will assist our experienced plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems in a large manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating systems.
  • Work under the supervision of experienced plumbers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Develop skills in brazing, soldering, and working with PVC pipe.
  • Participate in regular clean-ups to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls' safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.

Requirements

  • Registered as an apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
  • Ability to work under supervision, as part of a team, and independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
  • Overtime as required.
