We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team in Pickering or Kincardine, Ontario. As an Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will be part of our Installed Base Business Unit, working on innovative projects that make a difference for our customers.

Job Description

This full-time role involves performing non-routine and varied engineering assignments, typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, and resolution of field problems. You will work independently, receiving minimal assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions. Your tasks will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Continuing to develop knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Utilizing existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product lifecycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.

This position requires occasional travel. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with various levels of the organization and contribute to solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management, or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a BS in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering role is required. Additionally, you should have experience with Oil and Gas or/and Ontario Power Generation or Bruce Power Nuclear. You may also hold an advanced degree in a related field.

Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • Eligibility for registration and P.Eng. In Ontario, Canada.
  • Experience with control logic, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, process monitoring, integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, instrument selection, calibration specifications, software qualification, and cyber security.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering core skills, including power distribution, motor control centers, switchgear, high voltage systems, equipment design, lighting design, lightning protection, grounding, battery sizing, UPS design, amplifiers, digital and analog filters, electronic circuits, circuit analysis, and ETAP software.

You will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your technical expertise to find improved solutions and contributing to the success of our team.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this role is between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a competitive compensation package that reflects the value we place on attracting and retaining top talent.
