Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Alberta Oil Sands Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the success of our clients' operations as a Mechanical Engineer at Acuren.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical engineering work related to static equipment repair and alteration, failure investigations, and equipment strategy development.
  • Prepare high-quality engineering packages/PWPs for maintenance and execution teams, including repair packages, upgrade packages, purchase specifications, and equipment assessments.
  • Provide input into shutdown/outage scope development based on previous history and known future issues.
  • Offer improvements to plant operation and reliability through innovative engineering and resolve root cause performance problems with static pressure equipment.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with multiple disciplines, departments, and tradespeople.
  • Able to clearly communicate Engineering designs and procedures to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Experience in pressure equipment design and maintenance, and knowledge of commonly used design and fabrication codes (ASME, TEMA, etc.) as well as post-construction specifications for pressure piping, pressure vessels, furnaces, heat exchangers, etc.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent recognized by APEGA.
  • Registered with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
