About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Medicine Specialist to join our team at Pets People Practice BC Inc. As a key member of our veterinary clinic, you will be responsible for providing high-quality animal care and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe medication, set bones, dress wounds, or perform surgery as needed.
  • Advise clients on animal care, including feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
  • Provide a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.
  • Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers.

Requirements:

  • Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Will train.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work under pressure.
  • Physically demanding role with up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling.
