Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Harbor Pilot to join our team at LHR Américas. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a professional pilotage service, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels at our oil ports and terminals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety inspections of vessels before berthing or loading.
  • Direct deep-loaded vessels to a safe anchorage and coordinate their departure.
  • Investigate incidents of oil pollution and prepare reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of vessels handled and develop a database of their characteristics.
  • Communicate with vessels in the operating area, providing critical information to expedite ship movement and optimize scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as directed by senior management, including giving commands to steering, engine speed, and anchor use.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science from a recognized Maritime Studies College, with 5 years of experience, including at least 4 in Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
  • Or, a High National Diploma from a recognized Maritime Studies College, with 6 years of experience, including at least 4 in Harbor Pilot or seagoing experience.
  • Maritime Studies discipline required for HND & Bachelor graduates.
  • Tanker Safety Course-Basic training in Oil/Chem/Gas.
  • Helicopter and Underwater Escape Training Course.
