CORE Engineering Inc. is a distinguished mechanical and electrical consulting firm seeking a detail-oriented and creative Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join their team in St. John's, NL. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to innovative mechanical design and drafting for various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical designs and draft HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building control systems.
  • Collect existing system information through site visits.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
  • Utilize computer-assisted design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Complete heat loss calculations using Carrier HAP software.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical and project documentation according to codes and standards.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of reading, interpreting, and producing design drawings.
  • Familiarity with local and national building codes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in engineering consulting firms such as CORE Engineering will be considered an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
