The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Inspector to join its team. As an Environmental Health Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also develop and implement environmental health programs and interventions to reduce targeted health hazards.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Conducting inspections and investigations of food premises, public institutions, and recreational facilities;
* Identifying and mitigating health hazards such as chemicals, toxins, waste disposal, and communicable diseases;
* Developing and implementing environmental health programs and interventions;
* Collaborating with other city divisions and department staff on city-wide projects;
Key Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A university degree in science, health sciences, or a related discipline;
* Possession of a Canadian Certificate in Public Health Inspection in good standing;
* Experience in carrying out public health inspections and investigations;
* Strong oral and written communication skills;
