Exercise Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Exercise Instructor to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As an Exercise Instructor, you will play a critical role in providing exercise instruction and assisting with the ongoing development and evaluation of the Cardiac Rehab Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exercise instruction and assist with the development and evaluation of the Cardiac Rehab Program
- Ensure consistency in approach for patients by assessing and identifying patient goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient progress with other team members
- Practice within the program's standards of care and perform patient care documentation in accordance with professional standards and hospital policy
- Participate and facilitate patient/family education utilizing adult education principles and motivational interviewing
- Comply with and commit to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital policies and procedures, including responding to emergencies
- Health-related College diploma at minimum required and/or Baccalaureate Degree in a regulated health profession preferred
- Minimum of 3 years direct exercise instructional/progression related experience with Cardiac Rehab type population
- Excellent goal setting, exercise progression, and assessment skills
- BCLS required
- ACSM Exercise Specialist certification or equivalent preferred or in progress
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and coaching techniques
- Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and team members
- Experience with organizing, coordinating, and overseeing large volumes of patients in a short period of time
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and leverage sound clinical decision-making
- Well-developed negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
Hours: 8 am-8 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays (hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
