Job Title: Chief Estimator - Construction

Location: Winnipeg, MB - On Site

Salary Range: 130K-150K

About Jagger: We are a leading commercial real estate company and developer in Western Canada, seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the estimating department, developing necessary systems and processes.
  2. Identify project risks and create strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Develop preliminary project schedules and work plans.
  4. Engage in value-engineering design and pricing.
  5. Prepare bid packages, lead tender closings, and negotiate subcontract agreements.
  6. Communicate project details effectively and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  7. Create accurate cost plans during pre-construction.
  8. Explore implementing tools like AI and workflow automation.

Requirements:

  1. 8+ years of experience in estimating for general contracting.
  2. Background in construction-related disciplines, with designations like P.Eng., C.E.T., PQS being an asset.
  3. Familiarity with current MB Trade Definitions, building codes, permitting, and inspections.
  4. Familiarity with MS Office/Project/Power, Bluebeam, Procore, and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  5. Proven success in managing estimating projects.
  6. Experience leading and mentoring a team is a plus.
