Bureau Veritas is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team. As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for performing analytical procedures, sample preparation, and data entry into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Key Responsibilities- Perform analytical procedures and sample preparation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Record results in logbooks and on FCDs, and enter data into LIMS.
- Follow SOPs and WIs when conducting laboratory work or procedures.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in sample prep and analysis.
- Prioritize daily workload based on sample and client requirements.
- Provide updates on workstation status to Supervisor/Manager.
- Understand analysis procedures and problem-solve issues.
- Participate in resolving analytical and process problems.
- Identify non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances to Team Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
- Maintain training records and relevant qualifications.
- Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
- Keep work area clean, neat, and organized.
- Participate in Department and Health & Safety meetings.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Provide training, technical expertise, and mentoring to junior staff.
- Ensure consumable supplies are available in the lab.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained.
- Demonstrated success in the role of a Laboratory Technician.
- Post-secondary school education and equivalent experience.
- Repetitive, somewhat physical work using a variety of machines and equipment as required and according to deadlines established by more experienced Analysts and/or their Supervisor/Manager.
- May involve long periods of standing.
- Some lifting and carrying (up to 10 kgs).
- Requires flexible working hours, overtime, and shift work.
- Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
