PyroGenesis Canada Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for our employees, as well as respect for the environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial health and safety, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive company-wide culture of respect for health, safety, and the environment, as well as presiding over Health and Safety Committee meetings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to implement new procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory and health, safety, and environmental standards. They will also have strong technical knowledge, with the ability to provide technical advice on industry standards, occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a proactive company-wide culture of respect for health, safety, and the environment
  • Presiding over Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Acting as a point of contact with external organizations for compliance with various health, safety, and environment standards and regulations
  • Developing a list of preventive and corrective measures in health, safety, and the environment, and implementing the various actions
  • Performing risk and operability studies (HAZOP) and ensuring that the measures identified in the studies are completed
  • Conducting investigations and following up on incident reports
  • Assisting the engineering department and project managers in identifying standards and regulatory compliance in environmental, health, and safety matters
  • Organizing health, safety, and environmental training
  • Acting as a representative of PyroGenesis Canada Inc. to clients for any questions related to health, safety, and the environment
  • Obtaining and maintaining the permits required for the company's health, safety, and environmental operations
  • Setting up and optimizing a waste management system
