Project Manager - Mechanical

Located in our Halifax office, this role will be responsible for handling and executing multiple complex projects. As an integral member of our team, you will act as a technical expert to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards and contribute to the development of efficient and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to design and engineer projects, ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility.
  • Manage project budgets, coordinate documents and reports, and review deliverables for accuracy.
  • Act as contract administrator, ensuring timely completion of tasks and enforcing company standards.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Manage project schedules, coordinate with consultants and vendors, and organize client meetings and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA.
Requirements:
  • Relevant work experience in mechanical building services, with a strong background in project engineering.
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, with registration or eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Senior Certified Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant codes and standards, construction project procurement methodologies, and provincial building codes.
  • Experience in healthcare facilities, including Infection Control Certification (CAN/CSA Z312 and CSA Z32), is an asset.
  • Experience in project management, working on projects from concept to detailed engineering.
  • Ability to work well independently or within a team environment.
  • Proactive approach to tasks and strong initiative.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable problem-solving skills.
