About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join its team in the Cancer Care Program at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The successful candidate will serve a vital role in the Provincial Cancer Care Program, supporting all aspects of clinical medical physics service at the facility, in accordance with provincial standards.

The Medical Physicist will report directly to the Chief of Medical Physics and ensure that radiation therapy is delivered in an accurate, effective, and safe manner using contemporary methods and following national and international standards and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Medical Physics or Physics with specialization in Medical Physics, and certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (MCCPM) or the American Board of Radiology (DABR).

The successful candidate will also have established research and teaching experience, and competencies in other languages, with French being an asset.

In addition, the ideal candidate will offer exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

About You
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or Physics with specialization in Medical Physics
  • Certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (MCCPM) or the American Board of Radiology (DABR)
  • Established record in research and teaching
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

In accordance with Canadian Immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
