Job Summary

The Silver Hotel Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for the supervision of the banquet staff and the coordination of all food and beverage services within the banquet department.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet and Greet Guests
  • Ensure a warm and welcoming experience for all guests, including event hosts and attendees.
• Coordinate Banquet Functions
  • Work closely with event hosts to ensure all aspects of the banquet function are executed flawlessly.
  • Coordinate with the banquet team to ensure all necessary preparations are made for each event.
• Supervise Banquet Staff
  • Train and supervise banquet staff to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional service to guests.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Ensure Quality Service
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of quality service, ensuring all guests receive exceptional treatment.
  • Address any guest complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain Accurate Records
  • Maintain accurate records of all banquet functions, including guest checks and event details.
• Perform Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager or Director of Food and Beverage.

Requirements

• Exceptional Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests, staff, and management.
• Previous Experience
  • Previous experience in a banquet or food and beverage role, preferably in a high-volume, upscale hotel.
• Knowledge of Banquet and Food Service Techniques
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of various banquet and food service techniques and standards.
• Physical Demands
  • Frequent walking with some standing at times, possibly extended distances.
  • Ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary.
  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
