Optical Care Specialist

At EssilorLuxottica, we strive to provide exceptional patient care and service in our neighborhood Pearle Vision stores. We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Optical Care Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Optical Care Specialist creates value for patients by delivering exceptional service and ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, people-focused, and creative, with a passion for eye care or retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and efficiently when they enter the location.
- Promptly answer phone calls in a friendly and courteous manner, taking messages, directing calls appropriately, and scheduling patient visits in an efficient manner.
- Determine the reason for the customer's visit and explain how to shop at Pearle Vision; in the Doctor's office, explain all required paperwork, tests, products, and services as well as the appropriate time frame.
- Be attentive to details, reviewing prescriptions and/or patient information carefully, identifying special needs, and consulting with the optician, Doctor, or Retail Management when necessary.
- Show patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers and patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operation/procedures.
- Handle and file all patient records in an organized and efficient manner.
- Place contact lens orders, process shipments, and properly submit invoices for payment.
- Operate the POS system terminal, inputting customer/patient and prescription information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Accurately operate the POS system, collecting proper payment following company security procedures and retaining proper change for various transactions, such as credit cards, layaways, discounts, insurance, and coupons.
- Show customers where to pick up their glasses and sign-in upon return to the store.
- Take pride in the appearance of the store and show initiative in keeping displays clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of potential safety opportunities (e.g., broken tiles, furniture, etc.).
- Comply with all safety/regulatory requirements, ensuring supplies/chemicals are stored and used appropriately.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate/GED or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and listening skills to interact with customers and associates
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Sales skills
- Knowledge of store merchandise
- Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators
Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
