Job Title: Systems Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at Itracks. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network services, server, and desktop infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer network services, including Web, Email, DNS, DHCP, and other related services.
  • Maintain server, desktop, and network security to prevent unauthorized access and ensure data integrity.
  • Plan and implement server and network hardware and software upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate and lead planned maintenance outages to minimize disruption to our services.
  • Monitor server and network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize capacity.
  • Develop and maintain configuration and process documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
  • Manage backup and data-protection systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Provide on-call support to address server issues and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Assist staff with technical matters and provide first-level support for desktop and user issues.
  • Assist in managing Azure resources as we transition to the cloud.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects.
  • Effective communication skills to assist non-technical staff with their problems and requests.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, both proactive and reactive.
  • Project management skills would be an asset, and the ability to assist with large projects.
  • Experience with VMware, cloud computing, Microsoft Windows Servers/Desktops, Linux, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory Group Policy, Firewalls, SAN, LAN architecture, WAN architecture, Network Monitoring Environments, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Microsoft IIS would be beneficial.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience in server, desktop, and network infrastructure administration.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
