Electrical Engineering Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Director to join our team at Moving2Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of electrical engineering concepts and managing the design process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical engineering concepts and designs
  • Manage the design process, including budgeting and scheduling
  • Review and interpret existing installations and their impact on projects
  • Assign tasks to designers and CAD technicians as needed
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Coordinate with internal and external project teams
  • Develop and improve project management processes
  • Lead field representative teams and delegate site activities
  • Prepare and review change notices and respond to technical and financial queries
  • Support accounts receivable and prepare project schedules
  • Lead and assist in human resources activities, including recruitment and selection, employee development, and performance appraisals

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of project engineering experience in electrical building services
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple projects and clients
  • Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects
  • Knowledge of provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards
  • LEED certification or experience implementing sustainable design is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work over regular business hours
