Strategic Procurement Leader for Multi-Residential and Commercial Portfolios

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Procurement Leader to oversee the procurement of goods and services for our multi-residential, manufactured-housing, commercial and ancillary portfolios.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the direction, goals, and priorities for all purchasing initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment to corporate governance, transparency, and best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a national procurement strategy to ensure competitive, fair, ethical, and transparent processes for acquiring goods and services from qualified vendors.
- Setting purchasing policies and overseeing the entire lifecycle of sourcing and procurement projects, including ensuring appropriate approvals are applied consistently.
- Maintaining overall accountability of corporate Procurement controls and collaborating with Insurance, Compliance, and Audit teams as required.
- Coaching and leading a procurement team of over 35 individuals using best-in-class management standards and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Leveraging software tools such as Capex tracker and Dashboards to manage project milestones and future software initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities and capturing significant savings across categories, including equipment, major capital work, building services agreements, and property services.
- Developing clear reporting, tracking tools, reports, and analysis to drive data-based decision making and transparency.
- Maintaining knowledge of the market, current prices, and fair rates for goods.
- Providing strategic national supplier base management, including onboarding, supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier relationship/performance management.
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- At least 10 years of multi-residential/construction procurement experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- A results-oriented, metrics-driven leadership style with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance.
- Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program.
- Solid analytical and computer skills.
- An approachable and collaborative personality with a positive attitude.
- Outstanding team building and leadership skills.
- Experience in managing budgets, planning, forecasting, and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of contract language and law.
- Ability to think strategically and drive changes for clarity and efficiencies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and executive communication skills, with the ability to work well in diverse, fast-paced team environments.
We offer an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
