Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Technologies Instructor to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction to students enrolled in the Architectural Technologies program, designing and implementing a student-centered learning environment, and preparing and delivering lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students in the Architectural Technologies program.
  • Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
  • Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
  • Use digital tools proficiently, including general office applications.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Where required, develop working relationships with external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
  • Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
  • Attend program and school meetings.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
  • Member of or eligible for membership/certification with IDAS, SAA, APEGS, or SASTT, at an A.Sc.T. level, as applicable.
  • Five years' of experience, 2 years of which are recent/relevant in the related industry.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of drafting software, graphic or visualization software, the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to work as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
