The ideal candidate will have experience working in construction, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations. You will be required to work at various locations, often on the road, and will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work on sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
