The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior SDET Engineer to join our ACC product group based in Vancouver, Canada. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining QA test services and tools, as well as taking on responsibilities in system monitoring, including API traffic and failure rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain service and tools for our QA processes.
  • System Monitoring: Develop and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Error Analysis: Monitor and analyze system performance, including API traffic and failure rates.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Test Planning: Create comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and enhancements.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers and developers.
  • Industry Best Practices: Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve our QA processes.
  • Evaluation of Tools: Evaluate (commercial, open-source or proprietary) testing tools and test frameworks which can be leveraged within a project.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the extended team of software engineers, product designers and quality assurance engineers across worldwide teams.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and responsibly in an Agile environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience on using AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and so on, or similar public cloud services.
  • Web Services: Good understanding of web services and serverless functions.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Containerization: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Global Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a cross-time zone environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Teamwork: Good teamwork spirit in a dynamic environment.
