About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Buildings Mechanical & Electrical Department, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of mechanical engineers, EITs, and designers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, EITs, and designers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  2. Mentorship: Act as a mentor to the team, helping individuals develop their skills and advance in their careers.
  3. Project Management: Act as the lead on complex projects, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  4. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering work meets quality standards and codes, while ensuring client expectations are met.
  6. Design Review: Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
  7. Technical Support: Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during project execution.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines and architects to ensure project success.
  9. Client Management: Maintain and manage strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
  10. Best Practices: Implement and promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Requirements
  1. Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering consulting industry focus on the design of mechanical systems for buildings.
  3. Licensure: A valid PEO license.
  4. Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  5. Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  6. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
  7. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  8. Collaboration: An ability to work collaboratively.
  9. Business Development: Desire to participate in client management and business development activities.
