Job Title:

Mechanical Engineer Internship - Winter - Compressor Static Structures

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team for a winter internship. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the development of analytical methods for containment analysis of gas turbine airfoils using energy methods and FEA in Ls-Dyna.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Improve analytical methods for containment analysis of gas turbine airfoils using energy methods and FEA in Ls-Dyna.
  • Develop and calibrate ice/hail impact or blade containment in FEA in Ansys or Ls-Dyna for static airfoil made of composite materials.
  • Reduce development cost towards certification by improving analytical process.
Requirements:
  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout the internship.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering programs (2nd – 4th year grade student).
  • Relevant courses: Mechanics of materials / Damage in Materials, Static / Mechanics of Deformable Solids, Structure & Properties of materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LS-Dyna experience.
  • Finite Element Analysis.
  • Engineering mechanics.
  • Solid Mechanics.
  • Dynamics.
  • Machinery Design.
Work Environment:

Office type. Onsite only - 8am to 5pm. Some flexibility of working hours within a week offered.
