Nurse Practitioner Leadership Opportunity in Primary Health Care

Fraser Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Urgent and Primary Care Centre in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
The ideal candidate will have current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
We offer a competitive salary range of CAD $59.56 - $85.62 per hour, commensurate with experience.
About the RoleThis leadership opportunity is perfect for a Nurse Practitioner who wants to make a meaningful impact in primary health care. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients, providing first-line care in emergencies, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, clinical counsellors, and allied health professionals, to provide holistic team-based care.
As a leader in our organization, you will be responsible for mentoring and supervising other healthcare professionals, developing policies and procedures, and participating in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Diagnoses and treats previously undiagnosed patients/clients/residents for undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice;
- Monitors ongoing care, orders appropriate screening diagnostic investigations; interprets reports of investigations and analyzes information to monitor progress and plan treatment;
- Establishes priorities for management of health, diseases, disorders, and conditions; provides follow-up treatment; communicates with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnoses and priorities, outcomes, and prognoses;
- Collaborates and consults with physicians or other health care and social service providers as appropriate to assess and diagnose patient/client/resident status. Develops and implements treatment plans.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM);
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience;
- Demonstrated leadership practices, including clear, caring, and courageous leadership;
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis;
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices;
- Ability to implement and evaluate planned change;
- Ability to supervise others and evaluate the care they deliver.
