Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff ASIC Design Engineer to join our Ottawa-based team. As a key member of our ASIC design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing leading-edge chips for the Coherent Optics market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance ASICs for Coherent Optics applications
  • Collaborate with system architects to define specifications and micro-architectures
  • Develop and optimize RTL designs for power, size, and timing
  • Work with layout teams to ensure high-quality final products
  • Contribute to the development of next-generation DSP/FEC mixed-signal ASICs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 2-7 years of experience in ASIC design
  • Strong design and debugging skills
  • Working knowledge of DSP/FEC and communication theories
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork
  • Good knowledge of ASIC design flow and tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of MatLab and scripting languages
  • Knowledge of OTN, CAUI, and other telecom protocols
  • Design experience with Ethernet standards 100G to 800G
