Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and oversight to ensure the effective management of our organization's financial resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
  • Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning
  • Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs
  • Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
  • Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience in a senior financial role
  • Strong computer and technology knowledge, including MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal awareness and team player skills

Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to manage a large workload.
