Housekeeping Aide Job Summary

As a key member of our team at Mon Sheong Foundation, the Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning tasks in offices and washrooms on the ground floor and basement.
  • Ensure daily windows scrubbing in the lobby is completed as per the assigned schedule.
  • Be responsible for daily lobby floor tile scrubbing.
  • Dust lobby furniture to maintain a clean and organized appearance.
  • Clean staff lockers, washrooms, volunteer, and staff lounges to promote a healthy work environment.
  • Receive inventory and deliver it to designated storage areas in a timely manner.
  • Handle garbage disposal tasks, including collecting garbage, taking it out to the outside bin, and cleaning the garbage room as required.
  • Wax floor-polish for the dining, therapy, activity, and examination rooms of each unit, as well as the public area on the ground floor, per the assigned schedule.
  • Provide assistance with set-up and clean-up for special events or functions.
  • Carry out carpet shampooing for corridors, foyer, and offices on each floor as per the assigned schedule.
  • Clean and shampoo upholstered furniture per the assigned schedule.
  • Perform snow shuffling duties for the gardens during winter times when necessary.
  • Clean, sweep, and mop staircases per the assigned schedule.
  • Carry out carpet vacuuming for Resident Rooms, corridors, and offices per the assigned schedule.
  • Clean wheelchairs per the assigned schedule.
  • Monitor supplies stock levels and report any shortages to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Clean and sweep outside parking lots when necessary.
  • Perform deep cleaning duties for all public washrooms and facility rooms per the assigned schedule.
  • Be responsible for cleaning and organizing the store room and inventory storage.
  • Deep clean all cleaning equipment per the assigned schedule.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Maturity and the ability to work with the elderly.
  • Ability to understand and work with cleaning devices.
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is a definite asset.
