Administration portuaire de Québec offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join their team as an Asset Management Manager.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing the asset management program, ensuring its sustainability. This involves analyzing data from various surveys and inputs to identify main trends and actions to be taken for the port's assets (quays, roads, buildings, structures, electrical systems, rail, and water systems). The candidate will also contribute to the development and maintenance of the asset management plan, keeping asset information up-to-date. To optimize asset management and follow-up while maximizing infrastructure investments, the Asset Manager will develop strategies and work closely with the Planning Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update infrastructure investment plans for all asset categories, along with schedules for surveys, inspections, and follow-ups;
  • Analyze data and expert reports critically and analytically;
  • Create and review processes, methods, and procedures, recommending measures to improve and optimize asset management efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Conduct and supervise field inspections of assets to assess their condition, ensure necessary follow-ups, identify required expertise or interventions, and coordinate contracts awarded;
  • Prepare tender documents for surveys and expert opinions required on assets (surveys, divers, drone surveys, consultants, etc.), managing the tender process;
  • E nsure assigned projects run smoothly, meeting performance and quality objectives set by management;
  • Implement and update methodology, processes, and tools, as well as develop, disseminate, and apply asset management best practices;
  • Actively participate in the implementation of the IT Guide tool and maintain asset management information within this tool;
  • Analyze and process statements, reports, and appraisals, commenting on inconsistencies and requesting clarifications when needed;
  • Identify actions and priorities based on analysis synthesis;
  • Monitor the performance of the asset management program, setting targets and key performance indicators for continuous improvement in asset management;
  • Define, collect, and update information on cost of ownership, life-cycle analysis, residual value, obsolescence, etc.;
  • E nsure asset information is updated in the Guide TI database and other platforms (GIS, port asset master plan, etc.).
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with:

  • A good knowledge of building codes;
  • A strong capacity for analysis and synthesis to monitor asset status;
  • Proficiency in the Office suite and MS Project;
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize tasks;
  • SIGNIFICANT experience in consulting engineering or similar functions;
  • Relevant experience in municipal or marine asset management.
