Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mobile Equipment Operator to join our team in Ajax, ON. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is responsible for operating heavy equipment to load and move materials, ensuring efficient yard operations and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a loader to load and move vehicles to designated areas, ensuring safe and efficient material handling.
- Remove rows of vehicles to maintain yard access and facilitate customer needs.
- Crush vehicles as required, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Perform regular equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain and service the loader and press, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Mark vehicles for inventory and control purposes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Load crushed vehicles into delivery trucks, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Operate a forklift as needed, demonstrating expertise and caution.
- Assist customers in transporting heavy parts to their vehicles, providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform laborer tasks when loader duties are completed, including depollution, rim removal, and daily support.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and experience operating heavy vehicles.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of material handling and equipment operation.
- Proven track record of safe behavior and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Conscientious of equipment maintenance and operation, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Ability to adapt to changing climate conditions and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Valid forklift operator card and loader operator training (asset).
