RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Quality Inspector at Smartrend Manufacturing Group (SMG), you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting Products: Perform routine inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure conformance to established quality standards.
- Documenting Issues: Prepare and review quality documentation, including NCRs, FAIs, CoCs, and other relevant reports.
- Maintaining Equipment: Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Troubleshooting: Identify non-conforming products or processes and report issues to the relevant team.
- Corrective Actions: Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.
- Audit Support: Conduct and support internal audits to maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications.
- Customer Communication: Participate in root cause analysis and implement 8D reports to resolve customer complaints.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in QA, manufacturing, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an asset.
- Understanding of quality systems, standards, and methods (e.g., ISO 9001, SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
- Background in manufacturing processes and practices.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
