Job Description

We are seeking a skilled trades professional to join our team at Wright Construction Services Inc. as a journeyman/woman carpenter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • To build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
  • To fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
  • To instruct apprentices.
Requirements:
  • An education in other trades or a certificate/diploma.
  • A minimum of 3 years to less than 5 years of experience.
Work Environment:
  • Construction sites.
  • Commercial settings.
Certifications and Training:
  • Working at heights training.
  • A First Aid Certificate.
  • A Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • A Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
Transportation and Travel:
  • The ability to own transportation.
  • A valid driver's license.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Bending, crouching and kneeling.
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have excellent judgement, be a reliable team player with strong values and ethics. They must also possess a client focus and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
