This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment. As a key member of our service team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest level of service excellence and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble components, order parts, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Document all machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders in a clear and concise manner.
- Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Use computer applications and information systems (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis results.
- Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Prior experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
- Strong commitment to customer service and service excellence.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
The salary range for this position is estimated at $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This compensation package is competitive and reflects the importance of this role in delivering exceptional service to our customers.
