At 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, we offer a unique opportunity to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Technician. Our company is the parent organization to seven 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises across North America, headquartered in Calgary, AB.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our fleet of trucks, ensuring they are in top condition for customer pickups and deliveries.

The salary for this position is approximately $19-$22 per hour, including tips and bonuses. We offer a part-time or full-time schedule, with the option to work 10-hour days, including weekends and holidays. A compressed workweek means you get three days off a week.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You should have experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Performing routine checks on vehicles to identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Ensuring all safety protocols are followed when operating heavy equipment
  • Collaborating with the operations team to develop and implement process improvements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
