Job Purpose

As a Medical Science Liaison at GSK, you will serve as a key scientific resource for Canadian Hematology/Medical Oncology specialists. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to requests for in-depth scientific information, discussing and contextualizing new data from scientific conferences and publications, and driving the capture of important scientific insights to support GSK's research efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts in hematology/oncology.
  • Provide scientific exchange and drive impact for patients with the highest industry standards.
  • Be the scientific field-based expert in hematology in the territory and maintain a deep understanding of diseases, treatments, and the competitive landscape.
  • Attend and provide scientific support at medical exhibits and scientific sessions at regional, national, and international medical conferences.
  • Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat.
Qualifications
  • An advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) and a strong fluency in both French and English (scientific and technical) is required.
  • Independently driven, forward thinking, strategic project, and territory management focus to develop strong working relationships with external experts.
  • Excellent public speaker, with outstanding scientific presentation skills.
  • Exceptional people skills with a focus on teamwork and strategic execution of medical affairs plan in your respective territory.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical environment.
  • Sound negotiation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with drug reimbursement processes in Canada.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to travel throughout the territory up to 70%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in hematology/oncology (+2 years) in a medical affairs position or in academia with established relationships/connections with associated healthcare professionals is preferred.
