Product Management & Sourcing Manager

Lawson Products is seeking a seasoned Product Management & Sourcing Manager to lead our Canadian operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and executing our product strategy to drive revenue growth, cost savings, and margin improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the Canadian product offering, ensuring it meets country-specific objectives.
  • Prepare business plans for product additions and manage the lifecycle of the product offering.
  • Define the sourcing strategy for our Canadian business, balancing cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with key Canadian business leaders and the Product Management and Purchasing teams.
  • Refine the product assortment to fit customer needs and company goals.
  • Conduct market research and analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Implement pricing and branding strategies to optimize revenue, margin, and inventory.
  • Create and participate in promotional campaigns to increase product awareness and market share.
  • Review, maintain, and report on product categories.
  • Attend industry conferences, conventions, and trade shows.
  • Coordinate product management activities with multiple departments and branch personnel.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal product quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
  • Work with sales personnel and customers to better understand market needs.
  • Prepare surveys and confer with management regarding marketing strategy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field, plus 7 years of multi-functional supply chain, purchasing, and/or product management experience.
  • APICS Certified (CPIM) or equivalent required.
  • Ability to develop an index-based costing methodology and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes.
  • In-depth experience using ERP systems and the ability to synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to professionally present findings and recommendations to senior executives.
  • Ability to guide and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of success in similar and related Supply Chain/Purchasing/Product Management roles.
