Nurse Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a variety of long term and acute care facilities in the Elliot Lake area.
This opportunity offers above-average wages with travel compensation and accommodation.
Shifts will be early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the residents.
Requirements:
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (MMRV) proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work the flexible shift times, depending on the facility; eight (8) or twelve (12) hours in length.
- Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Must be reliable (once availability is given) to be placed at an agreed upon facility/unit.
- Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy (provided for review upon hiring).
