Job Title: Roofing Apprentice

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Roofing Apprentice to join our team at Flynn Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing various types of roofing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
  • Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Participate in the repair or replacement of single-ply roofing systems.
  • Assist in instructing apprentices.
  • Help install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.

Requirements:

  • No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Ability to work in various locations.
  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Large workload.
  • Overtime required.
  • Work under pressure.
