Key Responsibilities:

  • Phlebotomy Services: Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings in a variety of settings, including private homes, commercial facilities, retirement homes, and long-term care facilities.
  • Specimen Collection and Preparation: Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff, providing excellent customer service and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Data Entry and Record-Keeping: Accurately and efficiently enter patient data, requisition information, and other relevant details into our laboratory information system.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing priorities and unexpected challenges.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent, with phlebotomy experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in laboratory information systems, with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Personal Qualities: Empathetic, flexible, and able to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
