Construction Laborer

At Square Mile Development Inc., we are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team. As a Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in the construction process, including loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials. You will also be involved in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades. Additionally, you will assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt, and perform routine maintenance work.

Work Site Environment

You will be working outdoors in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads and working in dusty conditions. It is essential to be physically demanding and able to work in a variety of locations.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees

As a Construction Laborer, you will have the opportunity to participate in a government or community program that supports newcomers and refugees. You will assist with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and childcare, and support social and labor market integration through language training, skills training, and mentorship programs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and be willing to train. You will also need to be able to work 40 hours per week and be available for a permanent work term. The work language is English.
